CURLEY HOUSE - HARBORD - SYDNEY
This new house is located in a small
narrow block with very close adjoining properties and also a
small street front. Due to the privacy requirements, the home
has minimal amount of windows facing the next-door boundaries
and also the street.
The design concept was to achieve
the maximum internal privacy in relation to the neighbours,
yet connect the public internal ground level with the backyard/pool
area.
Special attention was given to the
kitchen space in particular to the island bench design that
is 7mt long and is the dominant piece of the family room. Another
interesting design element is a reduced external courtyard in
the entry to allow northern sunlight into the living room and
hallway, while maintaining the privacy from the neighbours and
the street.
