CHICUREO HOUSE - COLINA -
SANTIAGO
The
owners wanted a house as large as the site would legally allow
(500 square meters) on one level, with interior gardens that
would provide privacy from the exterior.
To
achieve this, a U design was developed, creating an access patio
surrounded by walls detached from the house, which resulted
in several interior gardens. The access patio was designed as
a poetic transition from the outside to the inside. A lateral
bridge along a great stonewall emerges from the water and is
interrupted by a waterfall cascading into a reflecting pond,
with fish and lotus flowers.
A
stone plaza situated over the water, with a bench and tree in
the middle, receives visitors with changing seasonal foliage
and shade.
